Standard Male Hard Crabs

Each bushel of our standard male blue crabs -- measuring 5 to 5 1/2 inches from point to point -- contains at least seven dozen crabs. Purchase them for your next large gathering or intimate dinner in quantities of 1 dozen, two dozen, half bushel, or bushel. All of our live crabs ship in an insulated cooler via 1-day transit.

How many standard male blue crabs should I order?

Order about six crabs per person if serving them alongside other food or about a eight to twelve crabs per person as a main course. A bushel of crabs can feed approximately eight people. Above all, order with your heart -- these reccommendations are just ballpark numbers.

How do I reheat steamed crabs?

Add two inches of water and 1 cup of vinegar or beer to a pot and bring to a boil. Place the crabs on a rack over the boiling water for 8 minutes. Alternatively, you can reheat steamed blue crabs in the microwave. Place a damp paper towel over the crabs and cook on high for 1 to 2 minutes. Lastly, you can reheat steamed crabs in the oven for approximately 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
