How to steam live crabs— Put the steamed crab in a pot with about 2 inches of water. For added flavor, add about a cup of vinegar or beer. Steam them for 25 minutes over the boiling water, once they are bright orange they are fully cooked. Also, use a rack at the bottom of the pot to lay the crabs on, to help them steam well. You can reheat the crabs by steaming them again for just a few minutes to warm them up. You can also reheat steamed blue crab in the microwave. Place a damp paper towel over them to keep them moist and cook on high for 1 to 2 minutes or warm them in the oven for approximately 10 minutes at 375 degrees. ENJOY!
